Pritzker Prize-winning architect Jean Nouvel, among the most thoughtful, innovative, and rebellious architects of his generation, reflects on his work past and present. We see a master in action in exclusive footage at the various stages off his process--conceptualizing, sketching, and even deciding the color of the stones to be used in the galleries of the Louvre Abu Dhabi. This is a meditative and rare portrait of one of the giants of contemporary architecture and design.

Le Nouvel Hiver is a slightly disillusioned reflection on the state of the world (the fall of the Berlin Wall, the end of the USSR, the Gulf War), the events of which are the thread of this year's Notebooks (1 January 1991 to 31 December 1991). Of course, these Notebooks are far from this sinister current events because life is elsewhere, in creation and in a quest for the absolute. And then, Le Nouvel Hiver takes us into surprising encounters (with Ken Loach, Brigitte Lahaie) and transports us to places I can't live without (the Ardèche in the North).

A surrealist etude that doesn’t have a clear narrative, and is courageous in its form, unusual in the context of Lithuanian cinema at the time.

A historian writing a biography of Isaac Newton spends a Summer with a dysfunctional family in Co. Cork, Ireland.

Just like an LP, coming out of the closet for a gay lad has both an A side and a B side. A life between guilt and pleasure.

A charming woman and a mysterious young man have a shared past, but what’s the secret?

Over the course of eight years, the film draws an intimate portrait of Jean Ciesielski, a teenager growing up in Antwerp. Moving through a succession of schools and educational tracks, Jean searches for a place within a system that has defined him from a tender age. At only twelve years old, he speaks with a striking maturity and clarity that feels far beyond his years. As adulthood approaches, Jean feels an increasing urgency for change. Unable to obtain a regular secondary school diploma within his current track, he decides to change schools once more. His journey reveals how deeply the language and expectations of education have shaped the way he sees himself and his place in society. Returning to Jean at irregular intervals, the film gathers conversations, silences and fragments of his everyday life. Through the evolving relationship between Jean and the camera, a portrait is gradually crafted rather than simply observed. Unfolding in a mosaic-like structure, the film offers a reflection on the fragility and turmoil of a young identity in formation, as well as on the act of filming someone as they change.

The true story of Jean Batten is of a daughter determined to live up to a powerful mother, desperate to leave a mark on the world – and prepared to go to the ends of the earth to do so. This is the story of JEAN.
